It is our goal for this website to be a main source of current information regarding programs and events at Shady Grove, including how you can be involved as a parent volunteer. We hope you will continue to visit our site regularly to stay up to date with the goings on at the Grove.

The Shady Grove PTA advocates excellence in education by adhering to our local and national PTA purposes, which can be found on the Purpose of the PTA page.  There are many ways in which you the parent/guardian can helps us to achieve each of these goals through our planning, programs, and fundraising.

To see how you can help with our school’s programs, be sure to visit our Volunteer Opportunity Page.

Our annual fundraiser’s are a great way to contribute financially, Running with the Stars in the fall and 7Spring Fling in the spring. The money from these two great fundraisers go to provide services and programs that benefit the students and families of Shady Grove in addition to enrichment supplies for the classrooms and purchases that benefit the school as a whole.

We love our volunteers, and we love to hear form them too!  If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas for future programs and purchases please feel free to contact us at any time.  Everyone is also welcome to join us at each of our upcoming General Body Meetings, September 13, April 10, and May 8, each held at 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Shady Grove Elementary, and we are excited about the many activities and programs for the upcoming year in celebration of 25 wonderful years in education!  We hope you’ll join us in ‘backing the future’ and making this another wonderful year!

My name is Susan Black and I took over for the president Amy Lindeman in October. My family and I moved here from Tennessee over the summer and our happy to be a part of Shady Grove. My son Jacob is in 2nd Grade and our Daughter Skyler is in 5th grade at Indian Springs Middle School. I previously was part of the PTO at our old school where I held the Membership, Secretary, and Treasurer positions where I also head up a lot of their programs from Blood Drives, to Food Can Drives and Father/Daughter Dance that raised money for St. Jude. With my background, I have the confidence that I can be a great president for Shady Grove and its families.

Feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or suggestions that you as a parent would like the PTA to do for the school.

Looking forward to a great year!
